The 6-year old chestnut stallion Val d'Aran became the price highlight of the 2026 Oldenburg Spring Elite Auction in Vechta on 11 April 2026.
A collection of 45 horses, including young sport horses and newly licensed stallions, was offered for sale.
The licensed stallion Val d'Aran (by Vivaldos x Weltmeyer), bred by Dieter Röbken and owned by Damil Dressage, had a hammer price of 110,000 euro and seemingly sold to a German bidder on the scene, but ended up being bought back as he didn't meet the reserve price.
The second most expensive horse in the collection was the the brand new Oldenburg Saddle Licensing champion Besandro Gold (by Best of Gold x Sandro Hit). Bred and owned by Heinz Ahlers, the bay sold for 100,000 euro to Australia. He will stay stationed at Ahlers, where he'll stand up for stud.

Customers from the United States invested €61,000 in the most expensive show jumper, Le Duc (by Levisto x Acorado).
The licensed Fortissimo (by Feinsten x Quattro B) sold for 50,000 euro, while the Danish bred licensed Ostmarks Deglo (by Global Player x De Noir) had a hammer price of 49,000 euro. The reserve champion of the saddle licensing, Davosino (by Dynamic Dream) sold for 45,000 euro.
Canadian dressage horse investor Vicky Lavoie purchased the 3-year old Freigeist (by Finest Hour x Ehrentusch).
Belgians bought three horses in this auction: Zuper Romance (by Zuêrmarn x For Romance II) for 31,000, Moriano (by Morricone x Sir Donnerhall) for 27,000 euro, and Big Little Brother (by Bernay x Desperados) for 12,000 euro.

The average price for riding horses was around 25,000 euros. The licensed stallions cost approximately 57,000 euro on average, while bidders paid an average of 37,500 euro for the unlicensed ones.
