One and a half years after purchasing Charlotte Dujardin's former medal winning ride Imhotep, the Austrian-gone-Hungarian Diana Porsche has made her international show debut on the gelding at the low-key international competition in Motesice, Slovakia. The pair won the 3* Grand Prix class in a field of nine competitors.

Imhotep Sold to Austria

In October 2024 the Salzburg based Diana Porsche acquired the now 13-year old KWPN gelding Imhotep (by Everdale x Vivaldi) from owners Carl Hester and Carol Ingham. It was in the midst of Charlotte Dujardin's high profile suspension for animal abuse, which kept the double Olympian sidelined from competing at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Dujardin and Imhotep had won the 2021 British Small Tour Championship and earned team silver and placed 6th in the Special at the 2022 World Championships in Herning. At the 2023 European Championships in Riesenbeck they got team gold and double bronze.

Imhotep sold to Porsche in Austria and the rider took her time getting acquainted with the famous gelding under the supervision of her trainer Diederik Wigmans.  Diana's pregnancy with her first child postponed a show debut as well. In addition, in December 2025 Porsche decided to switch nationality to Hungary, allegedly after having been obstructed in her path to compete by the Austrian Equestrian Federation.

Porsche continued riding as long as possible during her pregnancy and only called in for help to ride a few of her younger horses from South-German based Spaniard Adrian Munoz the final and first weeks when she delivered her son Leonardo on 17 October 2025.

Imhotep had appeared in public for a training session in Stadl Paura in August 2025, but her actual "show debut" was at the start of February 2026. Diana competed Imhotep twice "hors concours" that weekend before going into the national Grand Prix and posting a winning score of 72;133%.

"I couldn’t be happier with our first show together," Diana stated after Stadl Paura. "Of course, we still need time to get to know each other in the ring and gain more experience as a team, but this was the best first step I could have asked for. Being back in the ring after my baby break made this moment even more special. Grateful, proud, and excited for what’s ahead."

At their first official international show as a pair in Motesice on Friday 6 March 2026, the duo dominated the 3* Grand Prix  and scored 71.326% for the win.  Her marks ranged from 69.891% to 73.152%.

With the Hungarian flag on her saddle pad, Porsche bested the field, relegating Austria's Ulrike Prunthaller on the 14-year old Trakehner mare Fleur (by Kentucky x Grafenstolz) to second place with 69.456%.
