Stallions at Stud
Dorothee Schneider has arrived at Gestut Famos in Syke, Germany

Gestüt Famos combines top-class dressage and exquisite riding horse breeding under one roof. This requires strength: a strong team. Famos' owner Maik Kanitzky has therefore expanded his team. The foundation for a strong Famos is in place.

A Strong Team in Place

After Maik Kanitzky was able to get Olympic team gold medallist Dorothee Schneider excited about heading the dressage training at Gesüt Famos, he has gained an experienced operations manager for his stations.  Starting in February of this year, Heiner Kanowski will take over the organisation of stable management in close coordination with the owner.

The stallions have now moved to Famos, where Dorothee Schneider and her team have unpacked their bags over the past few days. Riders and grooms have settled in.  In all of this, the welfare of the horses is Famos' top priority. The dressage champions are well-cared for and arrived home. All of the sport horses and stallions have done their first training sessions in the riding arena.

The stallions moved from Rhineland-Palatinate to Lower Saxony to the EU insemination station at Famos. Experienced station manager Detlef Utecht van Dijk is looking after youngster For My Heart, as well as World Championship star Elastic and the other magnificent stallions on the roster.

Anyone who would like to see the FAMOS stallions in person is recommended to attend the presentation in Vechta: On Saturday, 28 February, at 6 p.m., the stallions will be presented at the stallion show at the Vechta Horse Centre under the direction of Olympic team gold medallist Dorothee Schneider. There, the fascination of dressage comes to life. For the riding master, the greatest reward is a happy horse that trusts and enjoys itself. Welcome!

About Gestüt Famos

Famos is located in the centre of Lower Saxony. Owner Maik Kanitzky runs several farms, including the Heidehof, Herzberg and M.K. Ammerlandfarm in Bad Zwischenahn as well as the Famos dressage centre in Legenhausen.

Gestüt Famos
Famos focuses on dressage. With its unique atmosphere, Famos offers an exceptional setting for breeding riding horses with first-class dressage training. The yard provides the ideal sporting conditions for riders and horses at this beautiful stud farm.

The fascination of horses. Famos is the centre of our breeding and dressage horse training. The best for our horses. At Famos, we discover, breed, raise and train unique talents, from foals to Grand Prix.

It all started with mare Contenance, Sir Donnerhall's dam. The Donnerhall daughter was discovered by Maik Kanitzky and his father at Uwe Heckmann's stud. "Contenance produced Sir Donnerhall I and II at Gestüt Heidehof. That is where the breeding programme is based. We have set up the M.K. Ammerland stud farm for the young riding horses. Famos now has all in one," said Kanitzky.

Optimum for Dressage

"At Gestüt Famos we want to serve equestrian sports and our customers," Kanitzky continued. "At Famos the selection of stallions, breeding and rearing through to training is carried out.
It's the optimum for dressage."

At the heart of the closely networked equestrian world, the stud farm is becoming a hub for breeders, riders, trainers and many personalities from the worlds of breeding and sport. "Only with partners can each of us benefit and shape the future of our horses on an equal footing," said Maik. "Famos will be a strong community."

The yard offers bbeautiful horses in an exclusive atmosphere.  "Our goal with Famos is to have healthy, happy horses and riders in a dream home," he said. "Their harmonious interaction is magical. We don't just want to dream about it, we want it to come to life – Famos will be a place of joy."
