Special Blend, Isabell Werth's third Grand Prix horse which she rode for owner Andreas Helgstrand, has been sold to a German Grand Prix rider.

Special Blend is an 11-year old Oldenburg gelding by Sezuan out of HW's Hurrican (by Hotline x Sandro Hit). He is bred by Hannelore Weber.

Licensed Stallion

He was presented at the pre-selection for the 2017 Oldenburg Stallion Licensing, but didn't make the cut. In 2019 he did not get chosen at the pre-selection for the 2019 Oldenburg Saddle Licensing, but ended up on the list of participants nonetheless. He was not licensed.  He was supposed to be sold in the 2019 Oldenburg Elite auction on  6 April 2019, but was not included on the results list

Two weeks after the licensing, on 24 April 2019, the Oldenburg Verband approved the stallion. He was listed as owned by K. Ahrenshop and M. Schmidt from Sulingen (GER)

Special Blend did his suitability test in Denmark in March 2020, scoring 8.05 points with 8.63 for dressage and 6.83 for jumping. He was licensed at the 2020 Danish Warmblood stallion licensing where Betina Jaeger presented him under saddle.

Sport Career

Special Blend
Special Blend ended up being gelded to be focused on sport.

He has only been very lightly competed in his life. He was shown once in Germany in June 2019 by Lydia Jordan before moving to Denmark, where Jeanna Hogberg rode him in three young horse tests in the summer of 2020. They were also entered for the German WCYH team selection trial, but did not make it to round two.

In May 2024 he returned to the spotlight under Isabell Werth, who debuted him in the Grand Prix at a local show in Hamminkeln . In 2025 she showed him in four CDI's, starting in Hagen, then Lier, Hamburg, and Aachen. They also showed at the German Championships in Balve, where Werth won Kur bronze with him.

Stickling Morzynski

Special Blend has now moved in ownership of German Grand Prix rider Natalie Stickling Morzynski, but the horse remains at Werth's barn, where Natalie now trains.

At the 2025 CDI Hagen
In recent months Stickling has acquired two exciting future Grand Prix horses. She added Swedish triple WCYH finalist BE Allex to her string in the autumn of 2025. She has recently done more business with Helgstrand, swapping for instance Young Riders' horse Knight Rider for small tour horse Faretti.
