The Swedish equestrian federation has announced the dressage squad going into the new year, 2026.
Swedish team captain Stefan Jansson looks back on his first year on the job and the achievements of the team in 2025.
"Everyone rode very stably and confidently. Several also have new and exciting horses so the situation feels very good," Jansson stated. Sweden's team in Crozet consisted of Kittel (Touchdown), Maria von Essen (Invoice), Tinne Vilhelmson (Hyatt) and Sofie Lexner (Inoraline W).
"It feels like a very strong team," Jansson opined. "The experienced horses, Patrik's Touchdown and Maria's Invoice, are at a good age and continue to do everything very well. Sofie's Inoraline W and Tinne's Hyatt have gained more experience and it also adds horses to the top stable, which is positive overall."
The CDIO Falsterbo has been designated as the final Swedish team selection trial before the 2026 World Championships in Aachen.
"We want potential World Championship combinations to meet on the same terms, and we see that those who are on their way up are really committed and want a lot," said Stefan. "They really need to know that these national teams are flexible and if you meet the criteria, you can be picked up."
Jansson also referred to the CDI-W Gothenburg and the CDIO's in Fontainebleau and Lier as observation events.
