Swedish equestrian photographer Krister Lindh (80) has passed away after a long illness. Born and raised in Lund, Lindh was a well known figure in the Swedish sport and breeding world, particularly between the 1970s till 1990s. Since 1993 he lives in Kristiansand. Lindh did photography as a passion, but professionally worked as plumbing technician and documentary producer. He leaves behind his wife Charlotte Kulneff. Ridsport wrote a nice tribute here.

Reiterjournal reported that German professional dressage rider Claudia Rassmann and her husband Martin are relocating fro Freiensteinau in Hessia back to Baden-Wurttemberg. The couple will set up shop at a new base, Stephan Faller's yard in Gügligen near Heilbronn.

Canadian dressage rider Alexandra Reid-Naranjo, who now competes for Ecuador, is pregnant with her second child. Reid is married to Ecuadorean team veterinarian Jose Rodrigo Naranjo and the couple lives in Wellington, Florida. Reid began riding through pony club and slowly became a professional by first grooming for Jill Irving and then for Eliane Cordia-van Reesema at Jewel Court Stud for years. She got the ride on her top horse Flynn at Eliane's and purchased him from her. She now runs her own business out of Wellington. Reid recently acquired a new horse, the 8-year old AES registered Macho van Hof Olympia (by Hotmail V x Foundation x Calypso III).

Welcome to the world Piet Berger
On 15 December 2025 German Grand Prix rider Stella Charlott Roth announced that she gave birth to her first child, a son, named Piet Emil Berger. The proud father is Stella's partner, Thomas Berger, son of German horse dealer Ignaz "IB" Berger. 

Brazilian paralympian Rodolpho Riskalla became the recipient of the Paralympic Award 2025 as the Best Para Equestrian Athlete of the year. He was honoured at  a special gala ceremony held by the Brazilian Paralympic Committee (CPB) since 2011. Athletes from 25 sports were celebrated on Tuesday evening 9 December 2025 in a ceremony held at the Tokio Marine Hall in São Paulo. This is the fifth time that 41-year old Riskalla received the equestrian award. Brazil has 25 para dressage riders registered with the FEI.

Joop van Uytert held an online auction of young colts on 15 - 18 December 2025 and the rising 3-year old Tristan (by In Style x Jazz x Amor) became the price highlight with an online top bidding price of 21,000 euro. The chestnut coplt Toto O'Bala KH (by O Toto vd Wimphof x Tango x Factor) was the second most expensive one, selling for 15,000 euro. Two went for 10,000 euro: Treasure (by Extreme US x Just Wimphof) and Toptoto (by O'Toto vd Wimphof x Charmeur). The latter sold to Diederik van Silfhout and Gerrel Vink.

Martin Klavsen
Marten Klavsen, former breeding director of Blue Hors stud, and his life partner Julie Kruse Hansen are expecting their first baby together. The couple announced the pregnancy on Instagram with the statement "can't wait to meet the little one who's half of me and half of you."

Dutch based Israeli rider Sarah Bamberger will be sidelined for a while. Based at Resim Dressage where she trains with Joyce Heuitink, Sarah fell of a young horse and had to rushed to the hospital. She sustained a concussion and fractured her ankle in three places as well as in one spot in her lower leg. Get well soon.

At the end of the year Kira Laura Soddemann has left the stable of the Coesfeld Lette Riding Club run her business out of a newly acquired barn, Katzheide in Warendorf. Irish Grand Prix rider Judy Reynolds moved her enterprise into the Coesfeld stable.
