A So Perfect x Dream Boy was named the champion of the 2025 Westfalian Stallion Licensing in Munster on 2 December 2025.

The Westfalian licensing committee pre-selected 69 colts for the licensing; 68 were listed in the catalog and 65 appeared in front of the panel. As usual Westfalia generously handed up approvals and 40 colts were accepted and no less than 12 named premium.

After the licensing, 56 licensed and 20 non-licensed stallions were offered for sale at auction.

So Perfect x Dream Boy

The champion was the Dutch bred and Westfalian registered So Perfect out of Dynamic Diva (by Dream Boy x Sir Donnerhall). He is bred by Catarinus van der Laan in The Netherlands and was presented by Heinrich Giesselmann in partnership with the breeder. Dynamic Diva is the full sister to breeding stallion Dynamic Dream.

At the auction following the licensing he sold for 500,000 euro to a new French investor backed by French Grand Prix rider Claudia Chauchard. They will stand the stallion at Christoph Wahler's Klosterhof Medingen, where Chauchard also stands the 4-year old Vitalamour (by Vitalis x Apache), which she co-owns with Annabel Moreau and Wahler. Moreau's 4-year old Zentinel (by Zuperman x Royal Classic) is also based at the Klosterhof.

The licensing champion of the jumpers was a Chacco-Blue x Ogano Sitte colt bred by German based Ukrainian Aleksandr Onyshenko and owned by Gestüt Sprehe. He sold for 250,000 euro and also moves to Klosterhof Medingen.

Reserve Champion

This year, fortunately, one reserve champion was named instead of the confusing two (in 2022 and 2023) or even the eye-brow raising six (in 2021) as happened in the past.

The DSP registered colt by Dynamic Dream out of.a Benicio x De Niro dam became the reserve champion. Simon Kohlenbrenner, the man behind the auction platform Horse24, is the owner and breeder of this colt. He sold at auction for 300,000 euro

Two Third Ranked

There were still two stallions ranked in third place in the premium ring.

One of them was a Westfalian bred colt by the 2021 Westfalian licensing champion Extra Gold out of a Charmeur x Dream of Glory dam. He is bred by Roland and Britta Labohm and is owned by Bernd Hollmann. This colt sold to Helgstrand in Denmark and had a hammer price of 415,000 euro in the auction.

The other is a colt by Follow Him's Schönweide x De Kooning x Weltmeyer, bred and owned by Hedda Ottmann-Droege. He sold for 350,000 euro at auction, also to Helgstrand, who already has a tight relationship of buying horses from Droege over the years.

Licensed

Of the 76 colts offered for sale in the auction, 85% of them actually sold to new owners. The average price for a licensed colt was 98,239 euro. The non-licensed stallions changed hands for an average of 26,750 euro.

The Hanoverian colt by Secret x Belissimo M x Davignon, bred by Svea Oltersdorf and owned by Sönke Rothenberger sold for 190,000 euro.

Christian Schulze Topphoff's Westfalian colt by Vitalis x Marc Cain x Poleggio sold to Brazil for 152,000 euro.

Dressurstall Schubert 's Westfalian colt by Diamantenglanz x Fiorano xWeltmeyer), bred by Olaf Steiling, moves abroad for 142,0000 euro, just like Kerstin Klose's Hanoverian bred colt by Vision x Don Schufro x Longchamp for 130,000 euro.

The most expensive non-licensed stallion was the Secret x Escamillo, which sold for 55,000 euro to a German client. The non-licensed Total McLaren x Sezuan went for 49,000 euro, while the non-licensed Skyline to B x Belantis fetched 40,000 euro.

The non licensed Vainqueur x Zonik One moves to Sweden for 17,000 euro, and Matthias Schlamminger's chestnut Attenance x Rosendiamant for 16,000 euro to Switzerland
