Herakles has been proclaimed the Trakehner Stallion of the Year 2025 at the annual Trakehner stallion licensing in Neumunster, Germany.
Herakles is by Gribaldi out of Helenah de L (by Michelangelo x Arthus). He is bred by Mette Hansen in Denmark. He was reared and owned by Norbert Timm of Hohenschmark Stud as a youngster. In August 2018 he sold at auction for 400,000 euro to Renate Weber.
He was licensed in 2011 and named the reserve champion and later approved for Oldenburg, Westfalia and Holstein. He did a 30-day performance test in 2012 in Munich and scored 7.39 points with 7.61 for dressage and 6.58 for jumping.
The now 16-year old stallion has mainly been competed nationally in Germany and has had a string of riders including Mareike Peckholz, Dorothee Schenider, Laura Strobel, Therese Nilshagen, Ann-Christian Wienkamp, Paula de Boer and Wieger de Boer. He has three CDI starts to his name, his first at the 2015 CDI Perl under Laura Strobel, before De Boer took over the ride and showed him twice at Grand Prix level at the CDI's in Sint-Truiden and Hamburg in the spring of 2024. In Germany he has achieved eleven Grand Prix victories, over 35 other Grand Prix placings and many more S-level placings.
He was not always available for breeding every year, but still has over 30 registered daughters with an almost 50 per cent premium rate. He stamps his confirm his above-average quality. He has 80 offspring in sport, which give him an FN dressage breeding value of 126. He sired 2 licensed sons (Dezember, Idomeneo).
