Hannah Laser will not be riding the 2025 Nurnberger Burgpokal in Frankfurt with stallion Rod Laver.
Rod Laver
The 30-year old Hannah Laser is a professional dressage rider who began her career riding for Klosterhof Medingen, where she booked her greatest successes so far. In February 2024 she moved to Tessa Frank and then rode for Gestut Schönweide before she began riding independently.
She obtained the ride on Frank Becker's 9-year old Hanoverian stallion Rod Laver (by Rock Forever x Fidertanz) this year, taking over from Esther Maruhn, the mother of the horse's owner.
Laser debuted Rod Laver at a local show in Essel in May 2025 and qualified for the Nurnberger Burgpokal Fnals by winning the qualifier in Elmlohe with 74.805%. She last showed the stallion in Oldenburg on 30 October - 2 November, scoring 70.447% and 73.547%.
No Finals, Move to Bavaria
Laser will not be riding Rod Laver in the finals in Frankfurt as the owners decided against it because of Hannah's move to Bavaria in the new year.
Hannah has accepted a job position as new team rider at Stable Meggle in Wasserburg. She will start on 1 January 2026.
"I would have loved to start there (in Frankfurt)," Laser told Eurodressage, who had hoped the finish the year on Rod Laver in Frankfurt.
The first reserve to fill the vacant slot for the Burgpokal Final is Juliane Brunkhorst on Bayside AK (by Bon Coeur x Sir Donnerhall). They scored the fifth highest result this season with a 73.195%.
