The dressage selection committee of the Swiss Equestrian Federation (SVPS) has announced the youth dressage squads for 2026.
Switzerland is currently without a youth team trainer with the sudden departure of long-time coach Heidi Bemelmans, whose contract the Swiss federation chose not to extend.
The selection committee worked with the regional associations to select the junior squad. Heidi Bemelmans, who will remain in charge of the junior squad until the end of 2025, commented the following about the selection:
"It is gratifying that the junior dressage squad is once again more broadly based thanks to the formation of a pony squad and a children's squad," Bemelmans explained. "Our fundamental aim is to continue working consciously and increasingly at grassroots level in the junior sector and to introduce new talent to top-level sport, so that we can ensure that the discipline remains internationally competitive in the years to come. To this end, we will work closely with the regional associations. Our goal for the season is to participate in the various European Junior Championships. The members of the B squad are to be specifically introduced to international tournament sport."
