Sons of the Wind partnered with Portugal’s School of Equestrian Art for "Harmony in Motion," a showcase of classical dressage, culture, and international celebration, held on 27 - 28 September 2025.
It was the first U.S. appearance of the world-renowned Portuguese School of Equestrian Art at this two-day celebration, which united equestrian excellence, Portuguese culture, and the international community in a celebration of tradition and artistry.
Sons of the Wind Farm
Sons of the Wind Farm is Vitor Silva's School of Equestrian Arts in Massachussetts, USA.
Encouraged by master trainer Frank Grelo, Vitor recognized the need for a European Classical Dressage riding school in the United States and opened Sons of the Wind Farm in New Hampshire in 1997. The farm has since moved to Merrimac, MA and Vitor opened a second facility in Loxahatchee, FL.
From in-hand work, under saddle or on long-lines, Vitor teaches his students that while masters or trainers can share their knowledge and explain the technical aspects of riding, each rider must open themselves to feel the horse’s movements, responses and needs. Vitor strives to develop an intuitive feel in his students so that harmony between horse and rider can be achieved.
"Harmony in Motion"

More than 160 guests attended clinic sessions across Saturday and Sunday morning, where the discipline and elegance of classical dressage were brought to life. The weekend culminated with performances on Sunday afternoon, drawing over 300 attendees. The program featured the artistry of Lusitano schoolmasters, the precision of their riders, and the vibrance of traditional Portuguese performing arts with folklore dances and fado singing and guitarists.
The event was further distinguished by the attendance of consuls representing nine different countries, as well as His Excellency, the Ambassador of Portugal — a testament to the cultural importance of the occasion and the enduring ties between Portugal and the international community.
Timeless Tradition of Classical Dressage

Looking ahead, Sons of the Wind School of Equestrian Art Foundation remains steadfast in its mission to preserve and promote classical dressage. Central to this mission is the Lusitano horse, a breed celebrated for its courage, versatility, and elegance. By honoring these noble horses and the timeless art they embody, Sons of the Wind aims to inspire future generations and ensure that the beauty, discipline, and artistry of classical dressage continue to flourish around the world.
Train at the Riding Academy
The Sons of the Wind School of Equestrian Arts offers a diverse selection of European classical dressage experiences for riders of all levels and disciplines.

With an emphasis on safe horsemanship and harmony between horse and rider, Vitor’s training philosophy is rooted in the fundamentals. Vitor and his staff teach classical dressage techniques via in-hand work, lunge lessons, and traditional mounted dressage lessons. For an optimum riding and learning experience, Sons of the Wind Farm offers both 3 and 5-day instructional riding packages
