Swiss Grand Prix rider Estelle Wettstein has welcomed a new horse into her barn, Hesselhoj Double Up. The 8-year old arrived a month ago.

Hesselhoj Double Up is a 2017 born Danish warmblood by Hesselhoj Donkey Boy out of Sobakkehus Mia Bella (by Tailormade Lancelot x Don Schufro). He is bred by Hans Horgen Hoeck.

WCYH Finalist

He was trained and only very lightly competed by Anders Sjobeck Hoeck. The pair made its show debut in 2021. They finished 21st in the 4-year old finals of the 2021 Danish Young horse Championships.

A two-year break from competition followed after the 2021 Nationals and Double Up returned to the arena at the 2023 World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo, where they made it into the 6-year old finals by finishing third in the consolation finals. In the actual finals they were 14th with  79.40 points.   The horse has not been competed since Ermelo 2023.

In March 2023 he was approved as a premium stallion for 1-year breeding with Danish warmblood based on his show results. A year later Double Up was the 8th most used Danish dressage stallion having covered 41 mares in 2024. He got his lifetime licence in 2024.

Move to Switzerland

Double Up sold to Ines Syz for Estelle Wettstein to ride.

"I still can't believe how lucky I am to have this unbelievable talented 8-year old stallion in my stable," said Estelle. "Thank you Ines to make this possible and to let us dream big."
