Dressprod first reported that Charlotte Dujardin is scheduled to make her big international come back next week at the CDI Wellington Heckfield in the U.K.

This CDI takes place on 10 - 12 October 2025.

The Rise and Fall

Charlotte Dujardin is one of the most decorated dressage riders in the world. She is the 2012 and 2016 Olympic Champion, won gold at the 2014 World Equestrian Games and 2013 and 2015 European Championships, and bronze at the 2018 World Equestrian Games and 2021 Olympic Games.

In the summer of 2024 an annus horibilis started when a video of her whipping a horse led to a one-year suspension from competing at FEI events and training FEI registered students and horses that she does not own.

Her suspension ended on 22 July 2025.

The Return

Hencke and Special Effekt in 2022
Dujardin returned to the national show ring on 27 July 2025, riding two Advanced Medium level tests aboard a new horse, 9-year old Westfalian Special Effekt SP (by Sezuan x Cantoblanco).  This mare was previously shown in Germany until February 2022 by Annika Hencke. She sold to the U.K. in March 2022.

Two months later she showed her own and Peter Belshaw's Secret Agent (by Secret x De NIro) at Hunters at Medium level. A week later she competed both horses again in Hartpury. Her last national start was on 27 September with Special Effect at Prix St Georges level.

Dujardin won all seven classes she rode so far.

The CDI Come Back

Dujardin will be going down the international center line at the CDI Wellington Heckfield aboard Ellie McCarthy's Brave Heart (by Bordeaux x Zack).

McCarthy has trained with Dujardin and Carl Hester in the past. She last rode her Brave Heart internationally at the FEI Nations Cup in Compiegne in May.

Dujardin's international Grand Prix horse, Alive and Kicking (by All at Once x Furst Piccolo), which she co-owns with Austrian Ulrike Bachinger, last competed at the CDI Hickstead in May 2024.
