The 10-year old Oldenburg stallion Golden Romance Malleret PS has been sold to the U.S.A. for a junior rider.
Golden Romance Malleret PS is by Governor out of Gesina (by Sir Donnerhall x Don Schufro). He is bred by Paul Schockemöhle and a half brother to the licensed stallions For Romance I and II, Despacito, Feinrich, Don Romance and Furst Donnerhall.
French-German Co-Ownership
Gérald Martinez, owner of Haras de Malleret, fell in love with the liver chestnut stallion when the colt was 2.5 years old. The stallion was offered for sale in the 2017 Haras de Malleret Elite Sales but retained by Martinez.
Golden Romance Malleret PS was first trained at Haras de Malleret in Le Pian Médoc near Bordeaux before being sent to French Olympian Jessica Michel in 2019. Michel piloted the young stallion to a fourth place at the 2019 French Young Horse Championships and to the bronze medal in 2020. They were also first reserves for the 2020 World Young Horse Championships, which were cancelled due to Covid.
Move to Germany
In the early spring of 2022 he moved into training with Helen Langehanenberg. She made her international show debut with him at the 2022 CDI Samorin, where they were second in the 7-year old preliminary test on 78.090% and won the Finals test with 80.557%. In 2023 the pair rode one CDI, the small tour at the CDIO Aachen, to finish 7th and 8th with 70 and 71% scores. They concluded the year with a fifth place in the 2023 Nurnberger Burgpokal Finals for Developing Prix St Georges horses in Frankfurt.
In 2024 German based Spaniard Manuel Dominguez took over the ride and he showed the horse in its first Grand Prix test in Hamminkeln, followed by the Louisdor cup qualifier in Hagen and a few more regional shows in Mönchengladbach, Freudenberg, and Nakum.
Sold to the U.S.A.
The stallion has now been sold to the U.S.A. as a junior rider horse for 15-year old Eve Boswell.
Boswell trains with Adam Steffens and Sven Smienk at Wendy Petrik's Candoit farm in Jupiter, Florida.
Boswell is at the start of her dressage career and has only competed at national shows so far. In 2024 she showed Bluebell at the U.S. Children Championships to finish 11th.
