Vanilla Gold became the best selling foal in the auction held by four breed societies at the 2025 Bundeschampionate in Warendorf on Thursday 4 September 2025.
"We want to make history," said auctioneer Christoph Rowold at the start of the "German Horse Quality Dressage Foal Auction" at the Bundeschampionate in Warendorf. For the first time, four major German warmblood breeding associations, Deutsches Sportpferd, Hanover, Oldenburg and Westphalia, jointly presented a high-calibre auction of selected dressage foals.
The top price was achieved by the Westfalian bred Vanilla Gold (by Vitalis x Furst Magic), which was sold for 110,000 euro to Portugal. The same Portuguese investor, Thiago Mantovani, has been making the good weather for the Westfalian breed society all year long, buying extravagantly expensive foals at auction.
The Oldenburg filly Beautiful Lady (by Bon Courage x Vitalis) sold to Vicki Lavoie in Canada for € 60,000.
Voyager (by Verbier x Furst Romancier) fetched 51,000 euro, while Vantastic (by V-Power x So Perfect) sold to the USA for 36,000 euro. Fuchtel's Highend (by St. Emilion x Floriscount) had a hammer price of 34,000 euro.
Vivantina (by Viva Gold x Florencio) sold for 33,000 euro, a Swiss buyer got De Jiro ESC (by De Niro x Jazz) for 32,000 euro. The same price was paid for Ping Pong (by Parero x Furstenball).
Valentin (by Va Bene x Ampere), Victorious (by V-Power x Ampere), and One Nation (by One to Remember x Furst Romancier) all sold for 15,000 euro.
Flower Power (by Feliciano x Secret) stays in Germany for 14,000 euro, Vajavina (by Vjento x Jovian) had 11 bids to reach 11,000 euro.
Two more foals sold for 10,000 euro: Vitamin B (by Vivaldos x Lorentin) and Fenomenal (by Fiji x Quaterback). Two went for 7, 000 euro with just three and four bids: Voundation (by Vjento x Baron) and Einer Wie Keiner (by Elastic x Bon Coeur).
