The Borculo Elite Foal Auction is well and truly back—and how! The 2025 edition, held this past Saturday 30 August 2025 at De Radstake, proved that the auction still ranks among the best. With top-quality foals, strong sales, and wide international interest, it was an afternoon full of highlights.

Valdemar van de Watermolen: Price Highlight at 105,000 €

The undisputed top seller of the day was Valdemar van de Watermolen (by Dutch Dream x Secret), who fetched an impressive 105,000 euro. This colt, bred by Jan and Anneke Greve, sparked an intense bidding war between buyers from Portugal and Germany, with the German buyer ultimately coming out on top.

Among the jumping foals, it was Verosa (by Oslo x Chacco Blue), an elegant filly bred by M. van Heel, that claimed the highest price. She is heading to the United States for 21, 000 euro.

International Buyers and Strong Sales Figures

The auction saw a large number of foals sold and attracted interest from several countries, including Sweden, the USA, Portugal, Germany, Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Italy. This confirms Borculo’s international appeal and prestige.

Thanks to the user-friendly and seamless HORSE24 online platform, bidders from around the world were able to participate with ease.

Global Interest

Velvet Black van de Nethe (by Escamillo x Apache) sold to Germany for 40,000 euro. Valley of Hope WS (by Denver U.S. x Gaudi SSF) will stay in The Netherlands for 31,000 euro.

Voice DC (by Fortunio x Vivaldi) fetched 26,000 euro, while filly Vilena MP (by Vino Tinto x Welt Hit II) sold for 17,500 euro. The same price was paid for Vienna D'Ottie (by Sarai L x Ferdinand).

Italians purchased Vivi Con Brio FME (by Viva Gold x Spielberg) for 16,500 euro. Village Boy (by Escamillo x Vivaldi) sold for 16,500 euro, Vitano (by Vitalis x Sandro hit) for 14,500 euro.

Americans purchased Valterri (by Extreme US x Le Formidable) for 12,000 euro. Volymbria L (by Powerbank x Londonderry) moves to Belgium for 11,500 euro. Voltage HS (by Extreme x Electron) had a highest bid of 10,000 euro from a German. Viva la Vida (by Vino Tinto x Uphill) goes to Poland for 9,000 euro and Vito EPJ (by Fiji x First Date) sold to Austria for 7,500 euro. A Frenchman bought Valarieta Texel (by Kjento x Sorento) for 5,000 euro.
