
Sauvignon became the best selling foal in the capsule collection offered at auction during the 2024 World Championships for young dressage horses in Verden on Saturday 9 August 2025.
Eleven foals were presented in the glorious evening sun after the final of the 6-year-olds and aroused great interest.
The colt Sauvignon (by St. Emilion x Helium), bred by Lena Thoenis, found a new owner for 60,000 euros. The powerful black stallion is a grandson of Calimera (by Christ), who shone in the family competition at the Herwart von der Decken Show on Monday. At the auction it was said he sold to the U.S.A.
Viviano TL (by Veneno x Christ), bred by ZG Lage, achieved a hammer price of 45,000 euro
Flirtfaktor (by For Romance x De Niro), bred by Chris-Florian Witte, fetched 35,000 euro.
Victorian (by Von und Zu x Le Formidable) had a highest bid of 16,000 euro, while Sunny Dream (by Senegal de Fontaine x Sezuan) had four bids and went for 14,000 euro.
All but one foal sold for 10,000 euro or more. All foals sold to local bidders except Son Amoixa (by Sarai L x Don Juan de Hus) who sold to a German online bidder for 11,000 euro.
