German professional Leonie Richter and the KWPN bred Most Wanted Nero became the winners of the 7-year old consolation final at the 2025 World Championships for young dressage horses in Verden, Germany, on Saturday morning 9 August 2025.
The top three in the small final secured the last three tickets to the 7-year old final on Sunday.
Richter and Most Wanted Nero, a black stallion by Morricone x Donnerball, bred by C. Bruin and owned by Gestut von Bellin, scored a winning 77.049%. He got 8.8 for trot, 6.8 for walk, 8.9 for canter, 8.3 for submission and 8.4 for general impression. The technical score was 71.697%.
"I am thrilled with the progress this horse has made over the past twelve months," gushed Richter. "I got Nero a year ago. He has such a great work ethic, and on top of that he has charisma and beauty – he made us very proud today."
Like many stallions at the World Championships, Most wanted Nero is used for breeding, yet he is hard to beat in terms of his calmness when handling. "He is so uncomplicated and not at all stallion-like – that's great," enthused Richter.
The KWPN bred stallion Nashville SW is competing in the WCYH for the third time, and this is the first time he has made it to the final. Under Dutch rider Femke de Laat, he received 9 for trot, 6.5 for wak, 8.3 for canter, 8 for submission and 8.2 for general impression. With a technical score of 71.964% he finished third on a toal of 75.982%. Nashville is a son of Secret out of Esina, a daughter of Jazz. He is bred by Stal Willig and owned by Marco Te Brake.
