Meike Lang's international Grand Prix gelding Ferrabeau has passed away. The gelding succumbed to colic.
Ferrabeau was a 13-year old Baden Wurttemberger bred gelding by Feedback out of Comtess ferrara (by Dr. Jackson D x Werther's Wels). He was bred by Anja Russ.
The dark bay Ferrabeau was put into training with Meike Lang when he was a young horse
Lang debuted him as a 4-year old at A-level in 2016 and she gradually produced him up the levels, competing him at regional shows in central and south Germany, as she is based in Honigtäle near Stuttgart.
In 2018 the horse briefly moved to different riders and had Sebastian Horler as well as Pia Wilhelm on board, but in 2020 Lang was back in the saddle and the horse listed as owned by Falk Gfrörer with the FEI.
Lang debuted him at S-level in 2020 and moved him up to Grand Prix level in 2021. Their international show debut was at the CDI Stadl Paura in April 2023 where they scored 67.000% in their first GP test. A month later they showed in Exloo, followed by Hamburg. In 2024 they did one CDI in Wiesbaden and got 65.304% in the Grand Prix. It was their last international.
Nationally Lang continnueds to show him until October 2024. At the end of that month, daughter Sofie Lang rode the gelding in an M-level test at the local show in Fellmersbach.
