The dressage selection committee of the German Olympic Equestrian Committee (DOKR) has named the riders who will represent Germany at the 2025 European Under 25 Championships.
German youth riders had to compete at two selection trials: the Preis der Besten and CDIO-PJYR Hagen before the final pick was made.
The European Children, Pony, and Junior Championships take place in Le Mans (FRA) 28 July - 3 August, while the European Young Riders and Under 25 Championships take place in Kronberg (GER) on 10 - 13 July.
Several interesting observations can be made. 2024 European Junior Riders Champion Marie Sohler will not be defending her title aboard Global Player OLD. The stallion only competed in the team test Hagen (11th with 67.374%) and is not selected. Also last year's junior team member Alix von Borries (Feingefuhl) were not in Hagen and did not make the cut at young riders level. Young Rider Rose Oatley has been selected for her fourth consecutive Junior/young riders Championships. She will ride her fourth Euros on a third different horse (Veneno 2022, Sommernacht 2023 and 2024). Two of last year's pony team members - Hannah Clauberg and Feodora von Roeder - were unable to ride themselves in the picture this year but of course have time to grow and come back. Last year's junior team rider Maria Teresa Pohl saw her team horse Lennox U.S sidelined due to an injury, but her second horse Diaton has stepped up to the plate and secured her her third consecutive team nomination (after having ridden on the pony team in 2023).
