Professor Dr. Bernd Heicke was honoured with the German Equestrian Federation's Riders Cross in Gold during the 2025 CHI Wiesbaden on 6 - 8 June 2025.
Dr; Dennis Peiler of the FN executive board presented this honour to Heicke for his lifelong commitment to equestrian sport. Dr. Heicke was totally unaware of this great honour and was fully surprised in Wiesbaden.
The Hassloch based Heicke is a long-time managing partner and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Bioscientia Institute for Medicinal Diagnostics. He is also a passionate horseman who has supported dressage (Dorothee Schneider), eventing (Julia Krajewski) and show jumping (Dirk Ahlmann) in Germany, by allocating his horses to famous riders and sponsoring competitions. He owns Gestut Fohlenhof.
"I think there are fewer sponsors who have supported so many young athletes so much—whether directly or indirectly through projects—and who are so passionate about their work," said Krajewsji at the ceremony.
Amongst Heicke's dressage horses there are Dorothee Schneider's international Grand Prix horses Faustus and Rock 'n Rose,
"I'm so moved that I'm at a loss for words," said the 89-year old professor. "I didn't expect this at all," said the 89-year-old. "I can really only formulate this as a request. It would be wonderful and my greatest wish if more people would take this up and continue it."
