Dutch professional dressage rider Kirsten Brouwer will be moved to her business to Germany. Brouwer has found a new base in Mönchengladbach.
Brouwer and her mom Annemarie were based at Petri Bax' Elisabeth's Hof in Gameren, The Netherlands, since their move from Platinum stables in 2017.
Petri Bax
The 46-year old Petri Bax is a professional rider who made her break through on the international Grand Prix scene in the 2000s at the time.
Bax' family bought equestrian center Elisabeth's Hof in Gameren in September 2005 and ran a business there together with her partner at the time, Jordi Domingo.
Petri's began her CDI big tour career aboard Oriento (by Jazz x Zeoliet). She competed him at CDI's across Europe between 2007 and 2009. Bax and Domingo broke up and Petri went solo, continuing managing her barn while also beginning a career in real estate.
Her last CDI was in Le Mans in October 2020 aboard Djive and Four Motion (by Negro x Mataro)
Van Tuyl and Elisabeth's Hof
Bax' stable in Gameren was founded by the late Henk Van Tuyl, who garnered his wealth in the fruit and vegetable business, and particularly with potatoes for frozen fries. He also had a passion for horses and named the stable after his wife.
Van Tuyl sponsored four-in-hand driver Ijsbrand Chardon, jumping rider Gerd Meier, and dressage rider Coby van Baalen on Zonneglans. His son Jan and Jan's wife Daniëlla van Tuyl ran the stable in Gameren.
Van Tuyl was also owner of renowned KWPN breeding stallions such as Roemer, Saluut, Negro, Ulft and Renovo, amongst others. In 2014 Henk passed away.
Elisabeth's Hof to Be Demolished
"I owned the stable until 2020 when I sold it to my father, who is a real estate developer," Petri told Eurodressage. "In the context of a category other than agricultural within the zoning plan as well as the fact that the barn is now completely surrounded by industry, the property has been sold for industrial purposes and is therefore being demolished."
Petri was based at the stable from September 2005 till October 2017 and returned in December 2024. Bax has found a new base to move to and will relocate as soon as the new property is ready.
"I truly hope to get back into the internationak arena after a very turbulent time for me and my horses," said Petri.
Brouwer On the Move
Bax sublet her yard to Kirsten and Annemarie Brouwer but now has to move barns.
"Brouwer has been aware of this situation/development for a very long time and has been given every extra opportunity within the possibilities to look for something for them and the horses," said Petri.
"We' been in Gameren for eight years and always knew that it would stop one day," Kirsten told Eurodressage. "Then we bumped into Marc Haine's facility in Mönchengladbach. We know him well because he treats and follows a lot of top sport horses. He has a rehabilitation center there. I think this is a very nice collaboration. It will be a big improvement for us with a big indoor arena, more paddocks and fields, stalls with outside windows, canter track."
"I want to focus on top sport and do horse dealing on the side. This is a great opportunity and I'm super looking forward to it," said Kirsten, whose brother will remain in Beuningen, The Netherlands; where he rears and prepares youngsters.
