Anna Kasprzak's Lusitano cross-bred Grand Prix horse Addict de Massa has been retired from sport.
Addict de Massa is a 15-year old Portuguese sport horse gelding by San Amour out of Turquoise de Massa (by Maestro JGB x ). He is bred by Sylvain Massa
Start in France
The dark bay made his international show debut as a 6-year old under Arnaud Serre.
The pair represented France at the 2016 World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo, wher they finished 18th in the 6-year old consolation finals. In 2017 they competed in the 7-year old classes at CDI's in Nice, Saumur and Compiegne.
Helgstrand Dressage
Addict moved to Denmark and after a three-year absence from Grand Prix showing, Andreas Helgstrand announced that Addict would be the horse for his big tour comeback. In March 2019, Andreas competed Addict once at a national show in Vejle, Denmark, and placed fifth in the Intermediaire II with 68,333%.
Anna Kasprzak
Helgstrand then sold Addict de Massa to his long-time business partner Hanni Toosbuy Kasprzak for her daughter, Danish Olympian Anna, to ride.
She made her international debut on the stallion at the 2018 CDI Aarhus and showing him in Randbol five months later. Addict then had a break from showing as he was gelded and suffered from some complications.
They returned in July 2020 at the CDI Hagen after which another one year break from CDI showing followed. They returned in Herning in October 2021, followed by Randbok.
Retirement
Kasprzak confirmed to Eurodressage that Addict de Massa has been retired from sport. He is now the senior supervisor in the field with the youngsters.
"This year’s 2-year-olds are extraordinarily lucky, since they’ve been accompanied by Dicker, who has scored the great summer gig as supervisor for the youngsters," Kasprzak stated. "Dicker hasn’t been totally sound during training, but he is a great horse with a lot of spark - and he is now putting all of his knowledge to great use, teaching his ways to the next generation of superstars."
