-- FN press release
Following turbulent years under the leadership of Sönke Lauterbach, a "cleansing" took place within the German Equestrian Federation and a new president has been put in place, Martin Richenhagen.
The German FN issued the following press release concerning its international restructuring.
The German Equestrian Federation (FN) is restructuring its headquarters in Warendorf: With a comprehensive structural realignment, the association aims to lay the foundation for a modern, efficient, and future-proof organization. The goal is to further develop the FN as a strong, service-oriented federation in equestrian sports.
The core of the restructuring is a streamlining of the management level according to the motto "leaner, more efficient, more service-oriented." The current four-person Executive Board will initially consist of three members and will be reduced to two in the medium term – a CEO and a CFO. To this end, five clearly defined departments – "Breeding and Horse," "Sport," "Competitive Sports," "Administration," and "PM, Communications, and Marketing" – will be created. The existing departments will be grouped by topic and managed as teams in the future, each under the leadership of a team leader.
The departments and their teams at a glance:
- Department of Breeding and Horses : Breeding, veterinary medicine and animal welfare, advocacy and science
- Sports Department : Tournament sports, training, equestrian development, youth and service
- Competitive Sports Department: Top-level sports, junior competitive sports, federal support point, events as well as FEI and EEF
- Administration Department : Accounting, IT, Human Resources, Legal, Data Protection and Compliance
- Department PM, Communications and Marketing: Personal members, communication and marketing
"We want to collaborate even more effectively across departments on these issues in order to ultimately achieve our strategic goals. That is our guiding principle. We are creating more transparency, enabling clearer responsibilities within the departments, shortening decision-making processes, and thus being able to align our actions even better with the needs of our members," said the designated Chairman of the Board, Dr. Peiler.
New Boards
At the FN General Assembly in Aachen on 5 May a Sports and DOKR Board was newly elected. See who got elected here.
A new FN Breeding Advisory Board also got elected as Theodor Leuchten did not seek re-election after 16 years in office as deputy chairman. The new chair is Carsten Grill, joined by Hanno Köhncke, Raimon Joesten, Norbert Camp, Gerd Sosath, Ahmed al Sammaraie, Hinni Lührs-Behnke, Ralf Johanshon and Antje Römer-Stauber.
