Only Two Riders Listed in Updated Belgian Youth Squads of 2025

On 30 April 2025 the Belgian equestrian federation updated the squads of youth riders in the pony, children, junior and young riders division.

Only two riders are listed.

The Belgian youth squads are divided into A, B, and C-squads. For the lowest squad, the minimum scoring level has to be 3x between 67% - 67,999% at a CDI or Belgian Championships in the last 9 months. For the B-squad the level is 68-68,999% and for A-squad it's over 69%.

So far only two riders have fulfilled these criteria:

Children A-squad: Elise van Os on Reliv van 't Amarylishof
Young Riders A-squad: Jette de Jong on Heavenly Charming

Belgian pony chef d'equipe Alain Rauw told Eurodressage that "we have a lot of riders who transitioned to a new age division. The squad criteria have also become stricter, and some horses have not yet performed up to standard. Fortunately there is a growing amount of riders in the youth divisions. Now the performances still need to improve, but I know they will come. I believe strongly in this generation and there will lead to a positive outcome."
