The 5-year year old Of Fire and Ice US became the top selling horse in the KWPN select sale auction which was held at the 2024 World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo (NED) on Saturday afternoon 7 September 2024.
The KWPN society used the opportunity to use the platform of clients present at the WCYH to sell a top quality collection of foals and young sport horses.
Ten foals were offered, alongside 9 young sport horses.
The top seller of the lot was the 5-year old gelding Of Fire and Ice US (by Romanov x Davino VOD). The bay sold for 335,000 euro to Christa Bijleveld for Dutch junior team rider Dominique van Dalsen to ride.
The second most expensive horse was 2024 Pavo cup finalist Penny Lane (by Kyton x Wynton) which had a highest bid of 175,000 euro.
The 5-year old mare O-Minka (by Incognito x Governor) sold for 150,000 euro
The 4-year old Wustenblume (by Vitalis x Furst Romancier) fetched 80,000 euro and will move to Helgstrand in Denmark, the 4-year old Joviana van 't Studutch (by Jovian x Furst Romancier) for 65,000 euro, and the 3-year old Racieta S (by Glamourdale x Vivaldi) went for 60,000 euro.
The 3-year old Ramblas (by Lantanas x Glamourdale) sold for 38,000 euro, Rembrandt (by Ferguson x OO Seven) went for 30,000 euro. Rosaline (by Jameson x Jazz) sold for 28,000 euro.
The most expensive foal was Unino (by Bon Courage x Uphill), which found a new owner for 40,000 euro. U've Got Mail PP (by Glamourdale x Vitalis) sold for 30,000 euro to Fiona Bigwood.
U Never Know Ave (by Extreme US x Damon Hill) sold for 17,000 euro while Uphill Star DDL (by Nashville Star x Uphill) went for 12,000 euro and U Two Ave (by Escaneno x Governor) as well as Urste Nanory (by Lord Romantic x Ghandi) both went for 11,000 euro.
U (by Le Formidable x Governor) went for 16,000 euro.
