Isabell Werth has made her show debut on a new Grand Prix horse, the 9-year old Oldenburg stallion Special Blend.

At the small local show in Hamminkeln, she won the Grand Prix with 74.633% ahead of Marcus Orlob on Alice Tarjan's Jane (73.267%), who is preparing for his European CDI debut in Hagen as part of the U.S. Olympic team selection path.

Special Blend

Special Blend is a 2015 born Oldenburg by Sezuan out of H.W's Hurrican (by Hotline x Sandro Hit x Donnerhall). He is bred by Hannelore Weber.

He was presented at the pre-selection for the 2017 Oldenburg Stallion Licensing, but didn't make the cut. In 2019 he did not get chosen at the pre-selection the 2019 Oldenburg Saddle Licensing, but ended up on the list of participants nonetheless. He was not licensed.  He was supposed to be sold in the 2019 Oldenburg Elite auction on  6 April 2019 but is not included on the results list

Two weeks after the licensing, on 24 April 2019, the Oldenburg Verband approved the stallion. He was listed as owned by K. Ahrenshop and M. Schmidt from Sulingen (GER)

In June 2019 he was competed by Lydia Jordan in the 4-year old classes at a regional show in Milte.

Helgstrand presented him under his name at the 2020 Danish Warmblood stallion licensing and he was accepted. Betina Jaeger presented him under saddle in Herning.

The stallion did his 14-day stallion suitability test in Denmark in March 2020 and scored 8,63 points for dressage and 6,83 for show jumping to finish on a total of 8,05 points.

In the spring of 2020 Jeanna Hogberg was entered for the German WCYH team selection trial with Special Blend but did not make it to round two. In the summer of 2020 Hogberg showed him in three shows in Denmark, placing fourth, fifth and eight in the 5-year old young horse classes.
