Two WCYH Prospects for Emmelie Scholtens

Horses.nl reported that Emmelie Scholtens has welcomed two new young horses into her barn which she considers prospects for the World Young Horse Championships.

Dutch Dream

The first addition to her string is the KWPN bred stallion Dutch Dream. He is by Dream Boy out of Hollywood (by Furst Romancier x Johnson). He was originally named Nevertheless Tarpania.

The 6-year old is bred by Ab de Lange at Tarpania Stables and sold as a foal at the 2018 Prinsjesdag foal auction to Koen Brinkman and Jacques Maree. He was rejected in the first round of the 2021 KWPN Stallion Licensing. He was accepted by the Oldenburg society at a home approval and became the high scorer of the 2022 Shortened Suitability Test in Warendorf. He was also Hanoverian approved.

Under Edith Chardon he won the 2022 VSN Trophy finals and was third in the 2022 Pavo Cup Finals. Last year Chardon (sister of four-in-hand driving champion Bram Chardon) rode the stallion to a 17th place in the 5-year old consolation finals at the 2023 World Young Horse Championships.

The owners have now decided to move the stallion in training with Scholtens and aim for the 2024 WCYH in Ermelo in September.

No Nonsense D

Horses.nl posted that Scholtens has taken over the ride on the 6-year old KWPN stallion No Nonsense D, which she co-owns with MT Stables.

The 2018 born dark bay gelding is by Glamourdale out of Astrona (by Olivi x Nourejev). He is bred by Piet Damen. He was presented at the 2021 KWPN Stallion licensing pre-selection but not accepted.

He was first competed by Kim Noordijk and Cynthia Eggenkamp. He was second in the 2022 VSN Trophy Finals behind Dutch Dream and second in the 2023 NAF Dressuur Talent competition. Eggenkamp tried qualifying him for the Dutch WCYH team last year but did not make the cut. They were 8th in the 2023 Pavo Cup Finals.
