Anne Troensegaard and Slangerupgaards Saffron became the winners of the Danish Warmblood Championship for 5-year olds held at the 2024 Danish Warmblood Stallion Licensing in Herning on 6 - 11 March 2024.

The Danish warmblood annually hosts its own championships for 5-year olds during the licensing in Herning. Only DWB bred and registered horses are allowed to participate.

The Championship consists of three rounds. Two in which the horses are presented by their own rider; in the first round in pairs of two and in the second round in pairs of three. The top 22 of the highest scoring horses after two rounds were test ridden by a guest judge rider. Daniel Bachmann Andersen returned as guest judge rider and reshuffled the field with his points which did not always agree with the judges' impression in the arena.

The winner of the Championship was Anne Troensegaard abord her own and the breeder Axel Buchardt Pedersen’s Slangerupgaards Saffron (by Secret x Scolari). The pair was 6th in the first round in which the black scored 8.5 for walk and trot and 8 for canter. In the second round she got 8 for walk, 8.5 for trot, 8 for canter, 9 for submission and 8.5 for general impression. Bachmann test rode her on Saturday and was over the moon with the feeling in the saddle. He rewarded the horse two 10s for gaits, rideability and potential.

The runner-up was Victoria Vallentin aboard her own and the breeders Tine and Henning Lygum Jensen's black mare Lygum's Zelina (by St. Schufro x Zack). They were 6th in the first round with 7.5 for walk, 8.5 for trot and 9 for canter. They moved to a second place in the second round with 7.5 for walk, 9.5 for trot, and 9 for canter, submission and general impression. Bachmann test rode the mare and scored her 9.5 and 9.0 which put her second overall.

The third place went to Mette Sejbjerg Jensen on Helgstrand and breeder Mogens Pedersen's Straight Horse Sun King (by Sir Donnerhall x Blue Hors Zack)
