Joanne Vaughan, the sole dressage rider representing Georgia on the international show scene, will premier a new Grand Prix horse in Wellington the new 2024 season.

Vaughan has purchased Rotem Ibrahimzadeh's Hero VDT, a 12-year old KWPN gelding by Conteur x Wynton x Calypso I. He is bred by A. van de Tillaart.

Hero VDT

He was presented at the pre-selection days for the 2015 KWPN Stallion Licensing but was not approved.

Hero began his show career in The Netherlands and became a semi-finalist at the 2016 Pavo Cup for 4-year olds under Jose van Haaren.

He then competed on the Belgian Young Horse circuit as a 5, 6 and 7-year old, competing in the selection trial for the World Young Horse Championships. In 2019 he was long listed for the Belgian team for World Young Horse Championships. Under Charlotte van Ingelgem the bay gelding made his international show debut at small tour level at the 2021 CDI Zandhoven.

Shortly afterwards he was offered for sale by Stefan van Ingelgem in the Eurodressage Equimarket and found a new home with Turkey's Rotem Ibrahimzadeh in Switzerland.   She debuted with him at medium tour level at the 2022 CDI Jerez de la Frontera and moved him up to Grand Prix at the 2023 CDI Wellington.  She has been gaining experience on him in 2023 at small, medium and big tour level at CDI's in Compiegne, Lipica, Brno, Deauville, Kronenberg, Bialy Las, Fot, and Motesice.

Joanne Vaughan

The British born Joanne came onto the international show scene riding for Estonia in 2007.

She has represented Estonia at the 2014 World Equestrian Games on Anna Paprocka Campanella's Prego (by Zazou x Ulft) and the country Georgia at the 2017 and 2019 European Championships and 2018 World Equestrian Games aboard her own Elmegaardens Marquis (by Michellino x Lucky Light), who made history under Emile Faurie by being part of the gold medal winning British team at the 2011 European Championships in Rotterdam.

Vaughan is a regular in Wellington, having competed there almost annually since 2014. Between 2013 and 2020 the Danish warmblood Elmegaardens Marquis was her main Grand Prix horse, but she also showed Stuntmann af Hvarre (by Stravinsky xx x Aleksander), Grand Prix horse Al Martino (by Almoretto x Lorentin) and PSI auction horses Dilestrio (by Delamanga x Motenverdi) and Forbes (by Fidertanz x Rohdiamant) which she acquired at the 2014 PSI Auction for  350,000 euro and 320,000 euro.
