The PRE licensed stallion Doblon-TR has been sold and moved to the U.K.

Doblon-TR is a 25-year old PRE stallion by the legendary Ermitano III and out Espuela (by Nervioso XI x Fetiche).

He is bred by  international dressage judge Mariano Santos at Yeguada El Tremedal. For PRE aficionados Doblon-TR represents exquisite breeding as Ermitano III is one of the best producing dressage horse sires and the dam line goes back to Maluso.

Sport Career

The grey stallion has a brief career in sport as a young horse under Joaquin Legarre Sanz. At age 5 he won the ANCCE Dressage Cup in 2003 and continued to be successful in Spain in the young horse classes.

In 2004 competed him at the World Young Horse Championships in Verden, where he finished 16th in the consolation finals for 6-year olds, one place ahead of Juan Manual Munoz on Fuego. That year Doblon-TR was the only horse that was rated “Excellent” in the final of the Young Horse Cycle in Sevilla. Sanz competed him through 2006 at small tour level.

An injury kept him out of the competition ring since then.

He was owned by Ma Dolores Fernandez de Bobadilla before selling to Yeguada Susaeta, who stood him up for stud. In Spain he has 185 offspring registered.

At Yeguada Susaeta, Guillermo Garcia Ayala rode him and said he personally preferred the crosses with dams by Oficial XXIX as they improved the rideability. In 2020 Ayala rode two offspring, Siete de Susaeta and Sultán de Susaeta, into the reserve team position for the cancelled 2020 World Young Horse Championships.

Doblon's most successful offspring at the moment is Guadix de Azuel (by Doblon-TR x Pendulo II) who competed at international small tour level under Peruvian Patricia Freundt Delta in 2018 and 2019. In the U.S.A. Siete de Susaeta (by Doblon-TR x Oficial XXIX)  is being shown at national small tour level by Justine Wilson. At the 2019 Spanish Young Horse Championships, Siete was the highest scoring PRE and a year later the horse won bronze at SICAB as a 5-year old before selling to the U.S.A.
