The Danish equestrian federation has announced the team that will represent Denmark at the 2023 European Para Dressage Championships in Riesenbeck, Germany, on 3 - 9 September 2023.
Denmark are considered one of the favourites for team gold and team trainer Astrid Gemal has selected a strong group of four riders.
They are:
- Tobias Thorning Jørgensen on Jolene Hill (reserve horse Blue Hors Zackorado)
- Renee Igelski on Beyond Dreams
- Line Thorning Jørgensen on Blue Hors Zackzimo
- Nicole Johnsen on Moromax
The reserve is Pia Wulff Jelstrup on Zafira
"It is my honoured task to optimize as much as possible for the whole team - both riders, horses and the entire staff," said Gemal. "We are ready to do whatever it takes to be as successful as possible."
The para team riders will go into bootcamp on 1 September at Blue Hors stud in Randbøl. The purpose of this bootcamp is, among other things, to create a sense of community, agree on a game plan, and give the riders the opportunity to spar with a sports psychologist from Team Denmark prior to the championship.
