A Kind of Blue PS was the price highlight of the 2023 Hof Kasselmann Hybrid Auction

Show jumper A Kind of Blue PS and dressage horse Fine Top became the best sellers of the 2023 Hof Kasselmann Hybrid Auction on 16 June 2023 run in partnership with Paul Schockemöhle.

Garden Party

The event took place in the gardens of Hof Kasselmann during the FEI Nations Cup Youth riders' competition "Future Champions" in Hagen. A collection of 18 youngsters was presented at auction from Hof Kasselmann and Stall Schockemöhle's own breeding and rearing programme. This was the second, consecutive year that a hybrid auction was hosted during this event.

The online bidding started on Thursday and already drove the price up to 70,000 euro for several youngsters, but the hammer for the final sales price struck during a live auction where most horses sold to customers present.  The wonderful summer weather and the international audience attracted a large number of interested buyers from Germany and abroad to the garden of the Kasselmann family, where guests could enjoy the famous hospitality of the hosts.

International Sales

Auctioneer Hendrik Schulze Rückamp announced the first dressage horse promptly at 8.00 pm:  Flaschenpost (by Finnigan x Wolkentanz). The American Paralympic rider Fiona Howard won the bid for the impressive Hanoverian gelding at 110,000 euro.

Fine Top
Excitement continued immediately with the second horse in the ring, Charessino PS (Chacoon Blue x Caressini L) was sold to an online bidder from Colombia for 180,000 euro. Moving abroad is also Fürstenhall, a Fürst Toto x Sir Donnerhall I son, which sold for 150,000 euro to Australia.

The most expensive dressage bid came for the Foundation stallion Fine Top, which was sold for 180,000 euro.  Furst Bordeaux (by Furst Toto x Bordeaux) sold for 155,000 euro.

Ferruccia (by Foundation x Don Davidoff) sold for 72,000 euro, Idan (by Ibizi x Burlington) for 62,000 euro, Fountleroy (by Foundation x Furst Romancier) goes to Holland for 60,000 euro, Indian Dance (by Indian Rock x Fidertanz) moves to Switzerland for 55,000 euro, and Talya (by Top Gear x Festrausch) had a highest bid of 45,000 euro from a Swede. Americans purchased For Fun (by Floricello x Fit for Fun) for 35,000 euro.

Several young horses will embark on their journey abroad: Customers from the USA, Mexico, Australia, Hungary, Austria, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland and the Netherlands invested in the high-quality collection. In total, the second Hof Kasselmann & Schockemöhle Hybrid Auction achieved a turnover of almost two million Euros.
