Tie Break, High Scorer of 2023 Shortened Suitability Test in Vechta

The 3-year old Dutch bred and Oldenburg licensed Tie Break became the high scoring stallion in the shortened suitability test held in Vechta, Germany, on 15 - 17 May 2023. 

Fourteen 3-year old colts participated in this under saddle presentation which is a mandatory phase for German licensed stallions. All stallions were presented by their own rider as well as ridden by test rider Philipp Hess.

Tie Break (by Toto Jr x Grey Flanell) was the high scorer of the pack with a total of 9,16 points. Bred in The Netherlands by Bockxgrave Horses, the stallion was presented in Vechta by Heiko Klausing. He received 8.8 for walk, 9.4 for trot, 8.6 for canter, and 9.5 for rideability and willingness to perform.

The second best score went to the Dutch bred Roman Empire (by Romanox x Sir Sinclaiur) who got approved by Oldenburg in a home licensing. Bred by Coen Kerbert  and owned by stallion rearer and horse dealer Rom Vermunt, this dark bay stallion scored 8.8 for walk, 8.6 for trot, 9 for canter and 9.5 for rideability and willingness to perform.

The third high scorer with a whopping mark over 9.0 was the German bred Bon Bolero (by Bon Vivaldi x Furst Romancier) who finished on 9.05 points. He earned 8.5 for walk, 8.8 for trot, 9.2 for canter, 9.5 for rideability and 9 for willingness to perform. He is bred by Matthias Krug. 

The Oldenburg licensed and KWPN premium stallion L'Avenir (by Le Formidable x Sir Donnerhall) was sent home from the KWPN spring stallion performance test by the licensing committee. Under Gerrel Vink, the temperamental chestnut did produce a final score in Vechta: 8.18 points. He earned 8 for walk, 8.2 for trot, 9 for canter, 7.8 for rideability and 8 for willingness to perform. This score landed him 9th out of 14 participating stallions. He is owned by Saskia Poel and Karel Gerrits.
