Danish Grand Prix rider Martin Christensen has started off the new year with good results at the 2023 CDN Ankum on 20 - 22 January 2023 aboard the developing Prix St Georges horse Dolciario.

Dolciario is a 9-year old Hanoverian by Danciano de Malleret out of Dancing Lady (by Don Frederico x Morning Star x Willem's As). He is bred by Christin Eggersgluss.

Hof Kasselmann

Originally owned by Hof Kasselmann, Dolciario was first competed by jumping rider Arne van Heel as a 3-year old.  In 2019 he resurfaced in the competition ring as a 5-year old under Lars Ligus.

In 2020 the Czech Eva Niklova took over the ride and rode the horse in its first CDI in Hagehn in the 6-year old tests, followed by an 11th place finish at the 2020 Bundeschampionate in Warendorf. They had also qualified for the 2020 World Young Horse Championships in Verden, but the event was cancelled due to corona.

In 2021 the pair made the transition to S* level, but it was Annika Feldhaus who campaigned him at small tour level through the summer

Wandres and Dolciario in Wellington
In the winter of 2021-2022 Frederic Wandres took Dolciario to Wellington, Florida, where they competed in three small tour CDI classes and won two of them. They helped Germany secure the victory in the CDIO Nations' Cup (with mixed level teams) there.

They also contested the national level Developing Prix St Georges horse tour in Wellington. They returned home to Germany and rode in the first 2022 Nurnberger Burgpokal qualifier of the season in Hagen, and placed second with 74.097%.

Shortly afterwards, Dolciario sold as a Grand Prix hopeful for Danish Martin Christensen to ride.

Based at Hof Etzer Heide, Christensen made his show debut on Dolciario in Medingen in June 2022 and also competed him at Pinneberg and Vreschen-Bokel last year.  They kicked off 2023 in Ankum with a first and third place finish at S* level.

Christensen has several, renowned Hof Kasselmann horses to ride, including Bundeschampions Fior (by Furstenball x Sandro Hit) and Bitcoin (by Bordeaux Rubinstein).
