American Grand Prix rider Arlene "Tuny" Page and her husband Dave have acquired Aquila Farms, a historic equestrian estate in Hamilton, Massachusetts.

Aquila Farm is a property of approximately 80 acres located on Boston's North Shore.

In 2013 the property sold to Uppercross Development Group for $4,125,000, who bought it from Diedre Pirie, who had owned Aquila Farm for 53 years.

The acquisition at the time led to opposition of the local community as UDG intended to create "a low-density, eight parcel residential plan, all while preserving and maintaining a majority of the land in active agricultural and open space use." UDG stated that "all individual parcels were sold out in less than a year from its bulk acquisition."

In the last decade the equestrian part of the estate - Aquila Farm LLC - was managed by Susanne Lichten Csongor, who runs a high-end residential interior design firm. Numerous hunter-jumper competitions were held at the venue.

"Spiritual"

Arlene Page (née Full) and Dave have now purchased Aquila Farm as announced on Facebook.

"We are so happy to say that this ”slice of heaven” is officially ours (or perhaps better said we are her caretakers," Tuny wrote. "Be on the lookout for fun and educational opportunities at Aquila. “Feels like home to me."

The barn requires some TLC and the Pages have planned renovation works.

"This place is honestly 'spiritual'," Arlene told Eurodressage. "There is work to be done in that we are going to rehab the 1880 carriage barn and probably do an indoor as well. The outdoor is spectacular and huge and needs only lots of horses to work on it. I do indeed, feel like the luckiest, girl alive."

Boston Strong

Arlene "Tuny" Page owns and operates Stillpoint Farm in Wellington, Florida, their winter base. The Pages are also sponsors of the annual CDIO Nations Cup competition in Wellington. They have been spending their summers up north in the Boston area.

Page's equestrian career has its roots in the Boston area as in the 1970s she started out as an assistant trainer at Flying Horse Farm, an eventing barn in the Hamilton-Wenham area on the north shore of Boston, where Fran and Joe Dotoli were based. Her first steps as a horse professional were made there, in eventing.

Tuny switched to dressage in the 1990s and has trained with Robert Dover, Klaus Balkenhol, Kyra Kyrklund, and Hubertus Schmidt. In 2006 she was the US Freestyle Champion and rode in the 2006  World Cup Finals in Amsterdam.  She was the team reserve for the 2006 World Equestrian Games. She has competed at international Grand Prix level with Claire, Wild One, Aline, Dr. House, Woodstock,

She has served on the USET Foundation Board of Trustees and the USEF High Performance committee and was on the Active Athlete Committee. She has her heart in two charities: Vinceremos Therapeutic Riding Center in Wellington and Friends of Thai Daughters.
