Valentina Truppa's internationally competed Grand Prix horse Ranieri has found a new rider, Italian junior Edoardo Zara.

Ranieri is a 17-year old Danish warmblood by Romanov out of Dreamgirl Sonderskov (by Leandro). He is bred at FT Stutteri in Hammel, Denmark.

The gelding has two renowned siblings: full sister Real Life, who competed at young riders level under Russian Kristina Leonova, and half sister Dream Team (by Don Schufro), who competed at international Grand Prix level in 2018 with Norwegian Cathrine Rasmussen.

The bay gelding was trained and competed up to Grand Prix level by Italian Valentina Truppa. He followed in the footsteps of her career making horse Eremo del Castegno.

At the 2021 European Dressage Championships
Truppa and Ranieri made their international show debut in the developing Prix St Georges horse class at the 2013 CDI Vidauban and competed at small tour level in Caselle di Sommacampagna, Munich, and Treffen that year. They moved to Grand Prix level in 2015 and at the end of the year Eremo del Castegno sold to Brazil and Ranieri stepped into the number one spot in the barn.

They competed at numerous  international shows between 2016 and 2019, but in 2020 they did not step into the CDI ring. Truppa returned on the Italian team for an international championship in 2021 and rode at the European Championships in Hagen, where they were 65th in the Grand Priw with 62.360%

The pair won the Italian Grand Prix Championships in 2017, 2019, and 2021. In 2018 and 2020 they won silver.

Edoardo Zara

The 17-year old Ranieri has now begun a new chapter in his sport career as a schoolmaster for Italian pony rider Edoardo Zara.

The 15-year old Zara is in his last year on ponies and has competed Der Kleine Lord (by Der Feine Lord x Amigo Valeur) and FS Coco Jambo (by Champion de Luxe x Dressmann) at international pony level since 2020.

This year, Zara has made his introduction to junior level with the 12-year old Hanoverian Franco di Reina DE (by Furst Nymphenburg x De Niro) and recently got Ranieri allocated as well. They made their show debut at a regional show at Duende equestrian centre before heading to the CDI Ornago where the international competition counted as the Italian Dressage Championship. Zara won two classes and placed second in the individual test. They captured the national title and gold medal.
