Danish Grand Prix rider Lone Bang Larsen has sold one of her two international Grand Prix horses, Bakkely's Onandt, to Canadian Valerie Chiasson.

Bakkely's Onandt is a 15-year old Danish warmblood gelding by Onassis out of Bakkely's Michel (by Michellino). He is bred by Preben Hald.

The dark bay gelding did his first show as a 6-year old under Betina Jaeger Jensen in 2013.  The horse then moved into training with Lone Bang Larsen and stayed there for nine years.

Bang Larsen made her competition debut with Onandt in April 2014 and in March 2016 they competed in their first international show at small tour level in Herning.

Their international Grand Prix debut was in March 2018 at the CDI Lier in Belgium and they competed in Aalborg, Uggerhalnde, Falsterbo, Flyinge, Herning and Randbol that year. They were 11th at the 2018 Danish Grand Prix Championship and 5th at the 2019 Nationals.   Their scores steadily climbed and they continued their international path with starts in Herning, Hagen, Uggerhalne, Aarhus, Fyinge and Randbol, amongst others until the CDI Opglabbeek in April 2021. A one-year international break followed while Bang Larsen focused on her other Grand Prix horse Thranegaardens Rostov. They were fourth at the 2021 Danish Grand Prix Championship and named second reserve for the 2021 European Dressage Championships.

In 2022 Onandt returned to the arena at the CDI Herning in March. Their last CDI was in Ermelo in September where they scored 69.326% in the Grand Prix but retired from the freestyle.

Canada - Luxembourg

Today, Bang Laren announced the sale of Onandt to Canada.

Valerie Chiasson and Fie Skarsoe with Onandt
"Onandt has been sold in cooperation with Fie Skarsø to Valerie Chiasson with a sportive agreement," she wrote. "Yesterday he moved to his new home, it has been a hard decision to sell him, we have had 9 fantastic years with together."

The Canadian Valerie Lefebvre Chiasson is based in Luxembourg and trains with Danish born Fie Skarsoe, who has a long-standing business relationship with Bang Larsen.

Born in Quebec, Chiasson made her mark in the motorsport world, from karting to GT, wrote history as the first female driver to climb on the podium of the Canadian Grand Prix. She stopped racing in 2017 after a severe injury and is now committed to equestrian sport.

Valerie's horse collection includes Moorea (by Astrix X Londonderry), Quality (by Quantensprung x Hohenstein), Kaliber (by Astrix x Lord Sinclair), amongst others.
