Westfalian Stallion Keeper and Breeder Hubert Vornholt Passed Away

The Westfalian stallion owner and jumping rider Hubert Vornholt has passed away at the age of 70 following a riding accident. The horseman succumbed to the injuries he sustained from falling with his horse on Wednesday 17 August 2022.

Vornholt was a highly accomplished show jumping rider and managed the Vornholt stallion station in Munster, the first private insemination center in Westphalia in the 1980s.

Renowned show jumping sires and horses were based at Vornholt, such as Plot Bleu, Lancer III, and Anchorman.

The most famous dressage stallion he bred and stood at stud was Clodagh Wallace's black Dresden Mann (by Dresemann x Florestan), who was competed by Ingrid Klimke. Dresden Mann was the recipient of the 2013 Otto Lorke prize but an injury shortcut his sport career at Grand Prix level.

This year Vornholt was standing the renowned sire Comme Il Faut (by Cornet Obolensky) who returned from Ukraine to Germany when the war broke out.
