European Young Riders champion Marten Luiten keeps expanding his budding business "Stal Luiten" as a professional dressage rider. He has added the KWPN licensed breeding stallion Mowgli VOD to his training programme.
Mowgli VOD is a 2017 born stallion by Desperado out of Zoriana (by Jazz x Juventus). He is bred by Ad van Os. The chestnut is co-owned by Jorg van Os and Sjaak van der Lei.
He became a premium stallion of the 2020 KWPN Stallion Licensing in 's Hertogenbosch, but his status was briefly revoked because he had an underdeveloped testicle. By the end of the year the "issue" was solved and Powgli participate in the 2020 KWPN Stallion Autumn Performance Testing, in which he scored 80 points. He received 7.5 for walk, 8 for trot, 8.5 for canter, and 8 for suppleness, self carriage, rideability and potential.
Mowgli VOD competed on the 2021 - 2022 KWPN stallion competition circuit under Franka Loos and finished fourth in the Finals in February.
The ride on the stallion has now been allocated to Marten Luiten, who trains the horse at Christa Larmoyeur's stable. Luiten is preparing his top horse Fynona for an Under 25 debut, while he competed Arie Yom-Tov's Killer (by George Clooney x Tolando) at Young Riders' level at the CDI Kronenberg.
