The highly successful national dressage shows directed by Rene Spiller in Zierow in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany, have come to an end.

Since 1999 Rene Spiller was the show organiser of the Zierow competitions, which were held at the equestrian centre of the Elsholz family in Zierow.

Elsholz - Keller

Ulrich and Angelika Elsholz established the riding school in 1991 and renovated the property into a modern facility in 1995. On 1 May 2021, the Elsholz retired from active duty and handed over the property to Ute Keller and Michael Dietrich, who were previously based in Eggerstorf.

Elsholz will continue to teach and sell horses though.

Club Concept

The CDN Zierow was (one of) the first competition that successfully launched the "club concept" hosting its own show circuit with club finals up to Grand Prix level. This concept was later on copied by Ankum, Vreschen-Bokel, and Kreuth.

Riders from all over Germany travelled to the CDN Zierow as it offered good show conditions to gain experience and mileage. Located in the Bay of Wismar, riders often combined this show with a holiday and hacking on the beach.

The last CDN Zierow under the management of Spiller was held in the spring of 2021.

Eurodressage contacted Spiller for a reaction, but received no reply.
