Danish Grand Prix team member Daniel Bachmann Andersen has decided to switch yards,  relocate from Kleppenhus in Ebeltoft (DEN) to Julianelyst in Ostbirk (DEN).

From Blue Hors to Kleppenhus

The 31-year old Bachmann has been working as an independent rider and trainer for the past two years.

In May 2020 he surprised the dressage world by announcing his resignation as head rider at Blue Hors, where he has worked for six years and which enabled him the greatest highlights in his career, so far. When he lost the ride on top horses Don Olymbrio, Zatchmi and Veneziano to owner Agnete Kirk Thinggaard in the winter of 2019-2020, the psychological door had opened to change.

Initially it was thought that Bachmann would relocate to Stutteri EVO, but in the end he chose for stable Kleppenhus, owned by Norwegian Grand Prix rider Cathrine Rasmussen, where he ran his business for almost two years.

His most recent sportive highlights were achieved on Marshall Bell, whom he rode in the 2020 Louisdor cup finals and in the Kur to Music finals at the 2021 European Dressage Championships in Hagen.

Julianelyst

Yesterday, Bachmann announced on social media that he was bidding Kleppenhus farewell and had signed a lease on Agnete Kirk Thinggaard's magnificent Julianelyst property in Ostbirk which is already closer on the way to the German border.

"New adventure ahead," Bachmann posted on Instagram. "After two amazing years at Kleppenhus, Bachmann Dressage is ready to grow and relocate. From may 1st we will move to Julianelyst in Østbirk. We are very thankful to Agnete and Claus Kirk Thinggaard for allowing us to rent your amazing stable. Thank you also to Cathrine Rasmussen for the opportunities we have had at Kleppenhus."

To Eurodressage, Daniel explained that his business had outgrown Kleppenhus, where he had 22 boxes and at Julianelyst he could expand to 32.

"We have got the opportunity to get more boxes and apartments and the location of Julianelyst is better because it’s closer to Germany and closer to the highway. It's 1 1/2 hour closer with the lorry," Bachmann told Eurodressage. "We are looking very much forward to this new chapter and to get all our employees and students horses at the same barn together.

Julianelyst is owned by Agnete Kirk Thinggaard and is a historic property built in 1792.  Agnete put her own riding career on hold in the spring of 2020 and the ride on all her top horses has now been taken over by Blue Hors team rider Nanna Skodborg Merrald.

When asked if Daniel will assist Agnete with her horses, he replied, "It’s not the plan that I am going to train Agnete."
