Austrian pony team rider Fanny Jöbstl has secured the ride on Charlott-Maria Schurmann's Oldenburg mare Simsalabim OLD.

Simsalabim OLD is a 9-year old mare by Sean Connery out of La Donna S (by Donnerball x Landadel). She is bred by Bernhard Schrapper and was owned by Carla Stevens.

Competed by Schürmann

The chestnut mare was trained and competed up to Intermediaire II level by Charlott-Marie Schürmann. The pair had its competition start in 2016 when Simsalabim was four. They competed lightly over the years and made the move to S-level in the autumn of 2019.

In 2020 Schürmann rode her in the Nurnberger Burgpokal qualifier in Elmlohe and Schenefeld and finished 11th at the 2020 Nurnberger Burgpokal Finals, the German Developing Prix St Georges Horse Championship, held that year in Kronberg due to Covid-19.

Junior Horse for Jöbstl

Simsalabim has now relocated to Switzerland as the new junior riders' horse for Swiss based Austrian Fanny Jöbstl, who ended her pony time this year as she has reached the age limit.

Aboard Dynasty (by Deinhard B), Fanny competed at three European Pony Championships. In 2019 she finished 33rd in the individual test, in 2020 she was 17th in the Kur and in 2021 she was 6th in the Kur finals.  In 2019 she won bronze at the Austrian Pony Championships and this year she got gold and the title.
