Hans Peter Minderhoud has decided not to compete his Olympic ride Dream Boy in the Kur to Music finals at the 2021 European Dressage Championships in Hagen, Germany, on Saturday 11 September 2021.

Minderhoud and the 13-year old KWPN stallion (by Vivaldi x Ferro), owned by Gaston Glock and Palmar BV, finished 16th in the Grand Prix Special with 73.632%. They made it into the Final 15 for the Freestyle as only three riders per nation are allowed to move on to the Kur.

An hour ago, Minderhoud announced that he has withdrawn Dream Boy from the final class.

"As you all could see, Dream Boy was not his usual self during the last days," he said. "We don’t know why but something is bothering him a bit. So we won’t compete at the final and Dreamy will get his well deserved break."

Dutch Adelinde Cornelissen and Governor can now take the free slot for the Kur in Hagen.

Minderhoud and Dream Boy were also members of the Dutch Olympic team in Tokyo. They finished fifth with the team and 12th individually in the freestyle with 80.682%.
