The upcoming CDI 4* and World Cup qualifier in Pilisjaszfalu (HUN) on 16 - 20 June 2021 will gather some of the world's best riders. This return event on the calendar will take place in the safest environment with a Covid-19 and special EHV1-protocol in place.

Hosted at Stable Unikornis, this international dressage competition will be the first 4* level CDI held in conjunction with a World Cup qualifier in Hungary.

Located in the quiet town of Pilisjaszfalu, just 28 kilometres north of Budapest, Stable Unikornis has developed into the epicentre of Hungarian dressage sport.

EHV-1 Protocol in Place

As a result of the hazardous situation at the CDI Ornago (ITA) two weeks ago, where an EHV-1 positive horse was exposed to top Grand Prix horses and Olympic contenders for three days before it was removed from the venue, the CDI-W Budapest will run under the strictest hygiene measures.

Show director Arie Yom-Tov is persistently working at raising the standard of his competition and will ensure that all is ready in time for a smooth, professional show.

Arie Yom-Tov
"As a result of the troubles that happened in Italy two weeks ago with the Herpes virus, I decided to take some actions," Yom-Tov explained. "All participants need to present a negative PCR for their horses upon arrival. For those who are unable to get the test, I will offer to have the PCR check done here at Unikornis at my own cost. We have reached an agreement to get fast results from the local laboratory."

Olympic Contenders Isolated

In addition, Yom-Tov will make dedicate a special barn building to all horses competing in Budapest, which are also in the running for Olympic selection. They will be isolated in a separate stable.

"I want to ensure that they are safe and their trajectory to the Olympics is not being put at risk by any exposure to the EHV-1 virus," Yom-Tov added. "I want to avoid any unnecessary risk."

Seven 5* Judges for Competition from Ponies to Grand Prix

The 2021 CDI Budapest has been able to attract a stellar panel of experienced judges with no less than seven 5* judges on the roster: Christof Umbach, Elke Ebert, Leif Tornblad, Maria Colliander, Peter Holler, Sissy Max-Theuer, and Thomas Lang.

They will be joined by 4* judges Orsolya Hillier, Freddy Leyman, Monique Peutz, Yuri Romanov, and Carlos Lucas Lopez.

The upcoming CDI4*/W on 16 - 20 June 2021 has an action packed programme with a 4* Grand Prix, a World Cup qualifier, a small tour division, and classes from young horse level, through children and ponies up to Under 25.

Extra Care

As a father to international dressage rider Jazmin Yom-Tov, Arie is acquainted with the high standards of top level competition. At his own show he will take extra care of the safety measures.

"I truly believe that at this sensitive time, when so many things are happening unexpectedly all over the world, we all must do our best effort with extra care," he concluded.
