KWPN Mare Champion

In 2003 Terlia became the KWPN Mare of the Year, wining the national 3-year old elite mare championship.

The 1.78 m tall standing mare was successfull in young horse sport in The Netherlands, after which she became a broodmare.

In the 2004 Pavo Cup Finals she finished third, sandwiched by a large group of breeding stallions. In 2005 she competed at Z-level in The Netherlands, but then was turned broodmare.

Terlia's first offspring was the 2008 born mare Dolcherie (by Painted Black) who competed by Belgian Tom Franckx at the  2013World Young Horse Championships in Verden, where she finished fifth. The beautiful mare briefly went on to be ridden by Belgian WEG team rider Julie de Deken, but soon after that she disappeared into obscurity.

Gideon (by Totilas) followed in 2011. Then embryotransfer was applied as she produced two foals in 2014: I am II and I Shakira Platinum (by Andretti).

She carried six further foals: Javea (2014, by Bon Bravour), Kaliefa (2015, by Bon Bravour), Moraira (2017, by Ironman), Nevarra (2018, by Just Wimphof), Owen TT (2019, by Toto Jr), and Phoenix (2020, by Kjento).

Javea and Tom Franckx competed at the 2019 World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo.

Colic

Owned by IPS Horse Group, Terlia suffered a severe colic attack which she did not survive.

"Despite her beautiful age of 21 she was still very fit," said owner IPS. "Unfortunately a colic attack proved to be fatal. Soon after arriving and diagnosis at the equine clinic, it showed that she had no changes for survival. Despite this great loss we are grateful to have had her for so long and to consider her as foundation mare for IPS Horse Group. We are blessed with the progeny she produced."

Terlia's last offspring will be born in 2021 from a surrogate mare. The foal is expected in May-June.
