Glamourdale has been named KWPN Horse of the Year 2020 based on the popular vote that was held online.
The 10-year old KWPN licensed stallion Glamourdale (by Lord Leatherdale out of Thuja (by Negro) received almost 2000 votes, the most of all six stallions nominated for the 2020 HOY title.
Glamourdale is bred by Joop Rodenburg and owned by Gert-Jan van Olst.
Glamourdale was champion of the 2014 KWPN Stallion Licensing and scored 85.5 points in his stallion performance test.
Under Charlotte Fry he won the 2018 World Young Horse Championships for 7-year olds in Ermelo. In 2019 he dazzled at international small tour level, recording wins at the CDIO Aachen. In 2020 he made the transition to national Grand Prix level.
"It's great news that our Glamourdale won the title of KWPN Horse of the Year. He deserved it. It's very important for our stable and we had some great moments with him," said Van Olst. "I saw him first as a foal of 10 days and was immediately convinced of his qualities. He has lived up to the expectations time and again and we are looking forward to his future."
Van Olst added that he shares the hope that the British Charlotte Fry and Glamourdale will be long-listed for Team GB for the postponed 2021 Olympic Games.
