The German bred Bloomberg (by Bon Coeur x Don Index) became the high scorer of the 2020 KWPN Autumn Stallion Performance testing which concluded today 30 October 2020.

This 21-day performance test was the first one held in 2020 as the spring testing was post-poned due to the outbreak of the corona virus.

50% Makes Finish Line

Twenty colts began the autumn testing, but no less than 10 of them dropped out along the way. Several have been asked to return for the 2021 spring testing, others have not been re-invited.

Last week Eurodressage reported on seven colts leaving the testing. This week, three more ended their HLP run prematurely.

They are Legend (by Bordeaux x Florencio), My Romance (by For Romance x Lord Leatherdale) and premium stallion Mansion (by Totilas x Krack C).The latter two have been invited to the 2021 spring testing.

Bert Rutten, chair of the KWPN stallion licensing committee, said, "we kept a select group of very nice stallions of which each has a nice character. Willingness to work and rideability are becoming increasingly important in breeding and are the pinnacles of our policy. We approved several stallions with unusual blood and quality and all them are stallions with a good or very good walk."

Bloomberg, High Scorer with Busy Schedule

A German bred colt became the high scorer of the Dutch warmblood stallion performance test. Bloomberg follows into the footsteps of German bred KWPN test winners For Ferrero, Dettori, Daily Diamond, and Toto Jr.

The "final exam" of the remaining 10 colts in the autumn testing was today, Friday 30 October 2020, behind closed doors due to corona. The exam was streamed live though for interested people to watch. All colts passed the testing.

Bred by L. Schüring and owned by the German Josef Wilbers in partnership with horse dealer Egbert Schep, Bloomberg scored the highest points with an 88.5 total. He earned 8 for walk, 9 for trot, 8 for canter, 9 for suppleness, 9 for self carriage, 9.5 for rideability and 9 for potential.

For the 3-year old Bloomberg it’s been a full agenda the past two months: competing at the 2020 Bundeschampionate (3-6 September), then straight to the Stallion Performance test in Adelheidsdorf (17-30 September), and almost immediately followed by the KWPN testing (12-30 October).

Blue Hors Monte Carlo TC Runner-Up

Blue Hors Monte Carlo TC (by Dream Boy x United) achieved the second highest point total with 88 points. Bred by Tim Coomans, the colt is co-owned by the breeder in partnership with Blue Hors stud, Nico Witte and Joop van Uytert. Monte Carlo scored 9 for walk, 8.5 for trot, 9 for canter, 8.5 for suppleness, self carriage and rideability and 9 for potential.

The third best result was achieved by Straight Horse Santiano (by Sezuan x Romanov), a Danish warmblood stallion bred by Straight Horses and owned by Blue Hors. He earned a total of 87 points after receiving 8 for walk, 8.5 for trot, 9 for canter, 8.5 for suppleness, and 9 for self carriage, rideability and potential. This horse has already twice changed name today, first he was named "Blue Hors Santiano", and now he's listed as "My Blue Horse Santiano" to indicate his adherence to the M-vintage of 2017 KWPN born colts (whose names start with the letter M).
