The renowned Blue Hors stud acquired Zackeis-Ø as the price highlight of the 2020 Danish Warmblood Elite Foal Auction held at the World Cup qualifier in Vilhelmsborg, Denmark, on Saturday 16 October 2020.

At the 2020 DWB World Cup Foal Auction at Vilhelmsborg return buyers secured top foals, and 88% of the foals were sold. Frandsbjerg horses purchased four foals, while Blue Hors purchased the two price highlights of the auction

The international stallion station and dressage stable Blue Hors secure the two highest priced foals of the auction. The black colt Zackeis-Ø (by Blue Hors Zackerey x Tailormade Attention x Blue Hors Romanov), bred by Bente & Jens Møller Hansen, sold to Blue Hors for 14,000 euro.

"He is a top foal which I have seen and admired at several occasions, and we believe he is a stallion prospect," said Blue Hors breeding director Martin Klavsen.

Blue Hors also placed the final bid on the filly Overgaard’s Várzea (by Valverde x  Blue Hors Zack x  Londonderry),  bred and presented by Tove & Ove Møller Nørgaard, the breeders of Blue Hors Zackerey. This very well-developed filly is out of Zackerey’s dam line sold for 12,000 euro.

"It is a large-framed and very attractive filly which will surely grow into a great dressage horse," said Martin Klavsen.

Springborgs Ganeiro (by Janeiro Platinum x Diamond Hit) fetched 10,500 euro, Vogue AW (by Vitalis x Romanov) 10,000 euro

The show jumping stable Frandsbjerg Horses have been regular clients at the Danish Warmblood auction in recent years, and today they purchased no less than four foals including a dressage foal, the charming grey colt Don Faziano Overskovlund (by Feinrich x  Blue Hors Zack x Don), bred by Irene Dalum. They paid 8,500 euro for Don Faziano.

The Rasmussen family, who runs Frandsbjerg Horses also purchased the price highlight among the jumping foals, the colt foal Hecas Cornetto (by Cornet Obolensky x Catoki x Landor S), bred by Marianne & Finn Tschernja. They paid 11,000 euro for him.

Head of the Danish Warmblood Auction Committee, Ulrik Kristensen, states that the committee is very satisfied with the result of the auction which has been conducted under very different circumstances with a very small audience in the show arena du to COVID-19.

"15 out of 17 foals sold, all six show jumping foals sold and six of the foals sold directly through the internet to buyers in Denmark and the USA, whilst clients from Sweden, Germany and the UK were also bidding. We are happy with the average sales price of 9,100 euro," says Ulrik Kristensen.
