Brilliant Collection for Live Auction of 2020 Foal Auction Prinsjesdag

Taking all government and RIVM guidelines into account, Foal Auction Prinsjesdag will organize a live auction with 62 dressage and showjumping foals on Tuesday 15 September – of course adjusted to the current circumstances.

The location remains unchanged; as per usual, Foal Auction Prinsjesdag will take place at the KNHS Centre in Ermelo. The set-up and decoration will be different than normal, for example, the foal auction will take place in the open air with space for a limited number of VIP guests and invited guests.

Both the dressage and showjumping collections consist of foals that meet the strict criteria of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag, time and again selected with the motto of ‘The Power of Performance’. “We are very pleased that, after two online auctions, we can finish this auction season with a live event for Foal Auction Prinsjesdag”, says Arjan van der Waaij. In addition to the 59 foals already published, three wildcard foals will be auctioned as well by Koen Olaerts on Tuesday 15 September. These wildcards will be revealed very soon.

Dressage collection with multiple eye catchers

With an excellent group dressage foals, Foal Auction Prinsjesdag believes to stand out. “We think that our collection is far above average with a some exceptional eyecatchers,” says Lauw van Vliet, who is responsible for the dressage selection together with Jacques Verkerk. “There are several foals that were bred out of very successful damlines and in addition, have fantastic types and movements. Several colts could be highly interesting for the stallion approvals in a few years’ time as well. The dressage foals expressed their talent on the photo / video days, so I think the videos will speak for themselves ”, Lauw van Vliet explains.

Talent for sport and breeding

With numerous promising colts, the dressage collection has a lot of potential to consist of future breeding stallions. The collection includes interesting sons of Grand Prix stallions such as Glock's Toto Jr, For Romance I, Totilas and Painted Black, but also promising stallions such as Jameson RS2 and Just Wimphof are well represented. “A striking son of Just Wimphof, for example, is Power of Dreams - bred out of a Johnson dam. The Totilas son Patron du Coeur, out of a mare by Stedinger, is also a foal with enormous potential. This colt was only a few weeks old on the photo / video day, but he is a very special  one ”, says Lauw van Vliet.

The group of fillies also consists of top talents for both sport and breeding. “For example, the Daily Diamond foal Princess Lady Texel, who can follow into the footsteps of her excellently auctioned stable mates,” Van Vliet refers to always popular foals bred by Wim van der Linde from De Cocksdorp, Texel. Interesting daughters of Desperado N.O.P, Ebony, In Style, Glock's Toto Jr, Totilas and Just Wimphof also feature in the auction collection.

Unique Prinsjesdag atmosphere

Unfortunately, the organization is only allowed to welcome a limited number of guests during the live auction this year, but everyone has the opportunity to place their bids online on the exclusive foals.

The VIP box will be divided into several separate tents around the auction arena, each with two VIP tables for four people. In this way, the 1.5 meter distance rule can be maintained while the organization tries to create the unique atmosphere of Foal Auction Prinsjesdag.

Viewing foals 12:00 am – 01:30 pm

Reception guests 1:30 pm - 2:00 pm

Auction starts at 2:00 pm
